I am in deep analysis of the Tortured Poets Department, and I am very grateful for all the smarter, more knowledgeable and experienced Swifties who are doing all the hard work for us in decoding these complex lyrics.

But how could you guys miss that one particular point?

I have yet to find someone mention that Taylor is one of the tortured poets!

We all pointed at Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, and other tortured men, as the poets in question.

But who is THE ultimate poet, mastermind, greatest lyrics composer, queen of hidden meaning, lord of the easter eggs?

How could we forget who wrote an 11 tomes enigmatic love saga?

No matter how public Taylor’s love life is, we are still pondering unconfirmed hypothesis and clues about 274 songs, trying hard to decrypt complex lyrics.

Taylor is one of the poet, if not the main one.

First Argument: The aesthetic of the album is about Taylor being tortured.

In all the promos, she’s the one tied in a psych asylum, looking tortured.

The Tortured Poets Department in a universe created by Taylor where she literally states being the Chairman of.

«You don’t get to tell me about sad». She’s not less tortured than these men.

“You left you typewriter at my appartment,
Straight from the Tortured Poets Department”

Does that imply that Taylor’s apartment is the Tortured Poets Department?

Second Argument: Taylor is obviously a poet.

«All those nights, he kept me goin’,
Swirled you into all of my poems»
in Fresh Out of the Slammer

«On the way home
I wrote a poem
You say, “What a mind”
This happens all the time»
in Sweet Nothing (Midnights)

In the introductory poems wrote by Stevie Nicks and her (that makes them poets by the way), she writes “My veins of pitch black ink, all is fair in love an poetry”

“Now and then she re-reads the Manuscript”. Poetry books are frequently called a manuscript.

She wrote the poem A Monster in My Closet when she was ten.
